VOCA Spring Meeting 2017

The 2017 Spring meeting of the Vermont Old Cemetery Association was held on Saturday, May 6, at the Newbrook Fire Department on Route 30 in Newfane, Vermont. Coffee hour ran 9 to 10 AM. Attendees were from the four corners of the state. A rousing business meeting was conducted from 10 to Noon. Vice President Dianne Leary presided (great job, Dianne!), with Secretary Jeni Newman at the head table. Footstone Charlie Marchant was our meeting host. Dianne reported four successful cemetery preservation projects around the state. The newsletter received great discussion as did membership issues and a future meeting with the New Hampshire Old Graveyard Association. Lunch followed and the Caesar salad and chicken-ziti hit the spot! A most interesting afternoon presentation and road tour was lead by Charlie Marchant to the Townshend Bridge District on the National Register of Historic Places.
